High tea to honour Marge and Denise

Honourary Life Time members, Marge Ellis (91) and Denise O'Connor (81).

HILLARY Bowling Club honoured two of its very special and respected Honorary Life Time members, Marge Ellis (91) and Denise O’Connor (81), with a high tea at the club on Saturday, 30 September.

A number of past and present members attended and Angus Napier, a past president and also a Honorary Life Time member of the club, gave an account of their achievements during their 42 years of membership.

Both women have represented Port Natal Bowls for a number of years and have won many district competitions.

Marge went on to represent South Africa as a player and manager in the United Kingdom as well as a manager in Australia.

Although they no longer participate in the game, they can be seen at every competition supporting the current Hillary Bowling Club members as they both still show a very keen interest in the sport.
