Armed robbers target Cowies Hill family

A COWIES Hill family was held up by a gang of armed men last night.

The home owner was held up at gunpoint in the garden and was forced back into his house. Blue Security’s community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios, said the man stepped out into the garden to smoke a cigarette. The men were lying in wait at about 9.15pm.

“While he was smoking the victim suddenly felt a gun pointed at his head. Three armed men, wearing surgical gloves and balaclavas surrounded him and forced him back into the house,” said Mathios.

“The men tied him up and ransacked the house before they fled with televisions, jewellery, cellphones, tablets and the victim’s vehicle. No injuries were reported,” concluded Mathios.
