Round of ‘apaws’ for K9 Unit

Rhys Delaney, Shiloh-Grace Robinson, Cayla Wareing, Layla Lee and Jordan Turnbull snap a quick picture with Oscar, one of the K9 Unit dogs.

THE Grade R learners at Hillcrest Primary School were ecstatic to receive a visit from the Shongweni K9 Dog Unit recently.

The children were treated to a display by the members of the K9 unit and had the opportunity to see how the police dogs do their work.

As a thank you, the children collected tins of dog food, dog treats, shampoo, dog biscuits as well as cash donations which would be used to cover the unit’s veterinary bills.

“The after-hours emergency vet bills are not covered therefore the money was donated into the veterinary account,” said the school’s marketer, Kim Joubert.
