Job seekers beware of false DSW and EPWP jobs

THE municipality has noted, with concern, circulating messages falsely advertising vacant positions in the Durban Solid Waste Unit and Expanded Public Works Programme.

The message directs interested parties to transfer R200 through various supermarkets. The municipality has released a warning for residents to not fall for this fraudulent act.

“People must note that municipal jobs are advertised in Metro Ezasegagasini, the Municipality-owned newspaper, and other reputable newspapers. Also, applicants are not required to pay any money to qualify for a position,” said deputy head of communication, Mandla Nsele.

Residents who receive this message are urged to report the matter to a nearest police station. Alternatively they can report to the Municipality’s City Integrity and Investigations Unit on 0800 202020.
