THE fabulous and fun-loving group of feisty female friends climbed on their bikes (iron horses) and hit the open road on Tuesday, 20 February.
It was just the six women on their bikes with no back-up vehicle for support (no extra luggage or groceries).
They headed down to Robertson in the Cape to attend the Lady Bikers SA’s, 5th annual, Rally in the Valley (RITV). The women represent the Iron Angels, a female biker group which is all about the pure joy of riding, friendships and supporting worthy charities.

This is the third year the Iron Angels have attended the RITV and the charity they are supporting this year is Cancervive, an incredible organisation that promotes cancer education and awareness, driven by cancer survivors.
If anyone would like to offer any additional support for this cause you can contact Ingrid Constable via sms or WhatsApp on 082 735 9765 or email [email protected]
Constable thanked Tim from Shell NPN Auto Centre St John’s Avenue Pinetown for organising and sponsoring a tank of fuel for each of the ladies to get them started on their journey.

“NPN Auto Centre is a favourite meeting spot for many bikers,” she said.
The female bikers said there is nothing more peaceful and joyful than hitting the open road, feet up, just riding, witnessing our country’s spectacular scenery and experiencing the comradery of fellow bikers.
“This is pure joy, out on the road with these amazing women and at the same time supporting such a worthy cause. So many friends and family have been touched by cancer, it’s wonderful to be able to show we care and give any support we can. Because we can.To all our friends and family, thank you for all your love and encouragement.”

The Iron Angels are particularly proud of her as she was in a horrific bike accident end of October last year and has endured a number of surgeries over the last four months so we think she is a rockstar for getting back on a bike and undertaking this long trip.
