According the pet’s owner, Tish Botha, Oscar was in the yard playing when he came rushing through the kitchen door bleeding.

The three year old collapsed on the kitchen floor and died in Botha’s arms.

According to Botha, people in the neighbourhood use pellet guns to shoot at the monkeys, which she feels is a danger as there are children who play in the yard while the guns go off.

“It is wrong to fire pellet guns recklessly, someone could get hurt. The community needs to educate themselves about the dangers of this activity,” said Botha.
