Hillcrest child snatcher sentenced
A 37-year-old woman, who was arrested in connection with the child who was reported missing on 21 December 2017, was found guilty by the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court.
Chance Dilemma Kabwiri, who was three weeks old at that time, was stolen in Embo, Hillcrest when her mom went to a nearby spaza shop. Police investigations led to a house in New Germany where the woman was found with the five-week-old baby. The baby was found in good health and was reunited with her mother.
The woman was sentenced to five years imprisonment or R6 000 wholly suspended for five years.
The Cluster Commander of the eThekwini Inner and Outer West, Major General James Sayer has commended the work done by the investigating officer.

Another body found in Pinetown
Pinetown detectives appeal to the community for information on the relatives of the unknown, deceased African man who was found on 8 June this year.
The deceased was found by a passer-by in the bushes next to Josiah Gumede Road and M13 Highway Road in Pinetown.
The decomposed body was found in a grey jacket and grey trousers.
Anyone with information on the relatives can contact the investigating officer, Det/Sgt Mariette Smith, on 031 325 5054 during office hours or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
Police seek relatives
Police in Inchanga are looking for family or relatives of a man found dead in his one room in Tin Town area. The body was found by the police on Sunday, 3 June at about 8am. He was wearing blue denim jeans, a white short sleeve shirt, a grey coat and a black coat.
The police also found a clinic card with the name, Philemon Masinga, but the locals know him as John or Sbari.
