A GANG of armed robbers held up a Westville teenager at gunpoint in a home invasion in Baron Place yesterday afternoon.
Blue Security’s community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios, said the teenager arrived home from school and was alone in the house when the robbers stormed the property at about 3.30pm.
“A gang of four suspects, two of them armed with firearms, derailed the driveway gate and reversed their vehicle, a grey Mercedes S200, into the property.

“They forced open the front door and held the youth up at gunpoint. They asked him for the safe and then removed it from the wall. They loaded a laptop, a cellphone and other goods into their vehicle,” Mathios said.
The boy’s grandfather, who was at the neighbour’s house, activated the panic alarm and the robbers fled the scene.
“No injuries were reported, although the boy was left traumatised after the incident,” said Mathios.
Westville SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
