Mnyandu was first arrested in 2010, but was on the run after he absconded from his bail application conditions before police arrested him again in 2016.
“Mnyandu committed the offences at KwaDabeka, Pinetown and Inanda areas from 2010 until 2015.
He would walk with the victims and promised them jobs then threatened and dragged them to the nearby bushes or sports grounds where he raped them.
A warrant was issued by the court for his arrest. He was linked to five cases of rape through DNA matching,” said Mbele.
The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Major General Bheki Langa, praised the FCS unit for the sterling job in putting the rapist behind the bars.
“As police members we are duty-bound to protect women and children from these heartless criminals,” he said.
